My stock literally just got a serious boost!
With the added benefits of new dividends to boot!
I may be turning 30, yes. Market value down? Not just yet!
Soon, in exactly 65 days I will need to change my blog headline. It will no longer proclaim to be tales of a “not quite 30 year old….”. With this change another may follow.
How long will this increased value last? Is it a long or a short-term hold equity? Only time will tell.
(Time will also reveal why I am speaking in entity rich metaphorical manner)
Things are going to start happening to me now!
(total bonus points and respect if you can “name that quote”! Hint: it is from a movie. EXTRA, EXTRA points if you can name the name of the character, actor and scene. What’s the prize? My respect, lol.)

So who’s got his eye on you and how handsome is he
Whatever you do tho… make sure he’s not one of those hit & run penny stock traders!
Lol? And why do people assume a woman’s happiness is only reliant on a man?
Because i’m a man… duh!
Or are you telling me that my TD Balanced Portfolio is going to see an increase in earnings i’ll have to report on my taxes this year?
Riiight and it’s 1950 and I only went to college to meet a smart nice boy there and then never actually work…
I dunno, only stock I got is tax exempt, employee stock. Just got my 1099 whatever for it and yep no taxes on it baby!
The post is all a metaphor but also very literal.
(btw, my knowledge of anything finance related is very limited and the only reason I know anything at all about it is bc my last job was in investor relations, randomly. I had one client on the Toronto exchange.. But yea I should probably learn a bit more about how all that stuff works. Sounds like you are well versed! A financier and awesome writer.. Your stock just went up! – i dig a guy who diversifies
talents wise)
Heh! Don’t knock the 50′s… there was no reality tv to rot the brain back then!
This post just read that way… metaphorically, literally, emotionally.. grammatically.
Being good with your financials is always a boost in the eyes of yer respective mate. For men it shows they can provide, for women it means they’re not gonna piss it all away on keeping up with the jones’s and fashion wars between the girls (like 25 pairs of heels and boots really?) lol
I’m not *well* versed, but stick my nose in just enough to make sure i don’t smell any BS. I let my financial institution make the call, it’s their livelyhood that i do well. If i did it on my own, i’d never make any money, i’m a poor gambler and never take any risks with money.
And thanks luv, you’re making me blush with the complements on my writing. Perhaps you failed to notice one of my commenters took me to task for poor apostrophe use. I’m a walking apostrophe catastrophe!
So yer digg’n me eh? So.. how yeewwwwww doin’?
Heehee. Sure… I dig ya
Ya know someone bashed my grammar of a response comment and.. It ticked me off. Comments I use like text grammar.
However, I am the first to admit my grammar sucks. Grammar school should be renamed… Poor-grammar school. We were never really formally taught it nor was the use of it enforced. And I got practically a perfect score on my verbal SAT’S (American standard test). I read profusely… Spelling and grammar. Never my fortes and if I were a journalist or some kind of professional writer where that was necessary I’d have a lot of catching up to do, but in creative writing I think going against the standard is a part of the “creative process”… Haha I’m half bullshitting here.
If only I had enough assets for all that to matter. Someday. Yes, I actually enjoyed learning the in’s and outs of finance. I sat across from a group of analysts and it was very interesting to hear the advice they gave clients (huge institutional clients but still). They took so much into consideration! Industry, volume, long or short term strategy… Etc.
I am not one of those need to have 100 pairs of shoes and 50 bags girl. Keeping up with the jones’s, no not me. Even when I do have more then 3 pairs of boots (one black one brown one neutral suede) or bag I always end up wearing the same pair… And I think it’s ridiculous to pay full price for anything you can get discount at TJ Max or Loehmans! Why? No one on this earth needs a $200 white button down shirt, unless the buttons are made of pearls and really who need that!
I like to have nice things because they last longer and are more comfortable. A good fit is important. You shell out for the important stuff, at least thats my philosophy.
What I NEED to brush up on cars (if I ever get another one). I hate the idea of being played by a mechanic just bc I’m a chic!
